Thursday, August 27, 2015 - Starting to come into a sweet spot after 10 years in bottle.
Color: Deep purple to ruby rim\
Nose: Deep, smokey, meaty aromas now cover the alcohol. Some spice, hay and black fruits.
Palate: Nice grip and balance. Fairly long too. Tannins resolving. Flavors of plum, spice, smoked meat, and leather.
Not elegant by a long shot. Dare I say, rustic? But a complete and enjoyable wine to be served with red meat or robust stews.
