Tuesday, September 18, 2012 - Tasted blind. Deep ruby with just a touch of orange at the rim. The nose is rather closed, small black berries, pencil shavings, tobacco. Very concentrated, but at the same time extremely elegant palate, wonderfully complex, harmonious, softly textured yet with a good structure. Dark and red fruit, coffee, very light acidity and some minerality. Nothing excessive, all in a perfect balance. A bit drying finish with some emerging coal bitterness, but a really wonderful wine anyway!
