Sunday, April 26, 2020 - I have a sense that this wine is just getting interesting. Slight funk on the nose, very clean bright green fruit on the palate, long and tactile finish. There’s a slight nuttiness that reflects the bottle age. Loads of acidity that’s better integrated on day 2. While not spectacular, there’s a lot to love here and it’s a very unique wine coming into maturity.
Not sure why I popped this; as I suspected, this should be a “hold” for now IMO. Having had Eyrie’s older whites before, even entry-level wines, I think this will only get better with time.
