This reminds me of a young Dunn which are also undrinkable in their youth, I honestly don't know how many years it will take to come into balance, but I won't try another one for 5 years min. 2/25/2016 2:46:00 PM - Yeah, I know it was too early to open, but I was just that curious. Needless to say, I won't be opening up another one for long long time. Hopefully it will at least allow others a warning and to not make the same mistake.

FWIW, I only recently started drinking the 2007 True Vineyard that I purchased on release, and it is still a baby and just barely entering its drinking window. But, it is magnificent. Be patient. I wouldn't open any of the 2013's from Howell Mountain for a while. And you're absolutely right about the Dunn comparison. Outpost is more like Dunn than Dunn these days.

12/22/2016 9:09:00 AM - I couldn't help myself so I opened one. Decanted 7 hours and as you described. Recorked for day two - found it totally shut down.. Recorked for day three and finally started to emerge- but still shut down. Half bottle left for day 4 and much more pleasant but sub-optimal. Essentially, just confirming your advice. Wait on it....this wine is like a caged tiger. Have 4 more. Next will be 2020.
