Thursday, May 31, 2007 - This was my first Monastrell wine. Decided to taste along with the Hecula and Las Rocas Granache. Immediate nose was quite fruity and hot. Definately the high alcohol content that was evident in the initial taste as well. After sitting in the glass for 30 minutes, the wine settled down a bit but was still quite sharp on the tongue. Maybe it will get better with some more time? Still not a bad wine for the price.
