Friday, April 3, 2015 - This is what Zinfandel is supposed to taste like. Made in the traditional method of co-fermenting a kitchen sink blend of Zinfandel clones with tradition field blend varieties like Petit Sirah, Syrah, Carignan, Alicante and many others. Rich, creamy and fruit forward without being flabby, actually quite elegant if you can say that about a Zin. The nose is incredibly expressive fresh plum raspberry and cranberry. The palate is a Zin lovers paradise. Big bramble fruit with all kinds of red and dark fruit. Nicely aged for about a year in oak. Balanced and integrated but still young with at least 10 years of aging potential. Super long, lingering plum and boysenberry finish.
