Wednesday, July 22, 2015 - Bright red fruit with green pepper nose. Lots of juicy ripe (but not overripe) cherry, green pepper, river rock with plenty of acid and a firm tannin with a persistent mineral finish. Medium bodied making it much lighter than the cab. While there's no mistaking this for old-world Cab Franc, but it was really a delightful, juicy, refreshing, but transparent effort. It's approachable now, but I might hold for a couple years.
This is from a single block just north of Kronos in St Helena. I like this a lot and a bit more than the previous Helios red (a syrah from Atlas Peak).
