Saturday, October 1, 2022 - 2 hours in the decanter and another 1-2 in the bottle. Sweaty leather, graphite, and some secondary red fruit on the nose but swirling brings out fresh ripe blackberry and cassis. The palate is in great balance with a medium body, medium tannin, and medium + acid. Finish is relatively long and acidic with notes of gravel. Midpalate is somewhat lacking in concentration which is my only critique, but the midpalate still had great tension and this was still coming alive at the end of the night. I don't believe this is quite in its drinking window yet, hold it for a few more years. Great expression of St. Julien and fruit driven at the same time.
