Monday, June 7, 2021 - Needs decanting for sure . Definitely a richer and fleshier wine (Especially compared to the 2005 Montrose we had just before, Papies 94+) and needs its time to develop and open up. We only saw a glimpse of what this wine can deliver for sure and definitely we could feel the winemaker pushed for a riper and oakier wine at the time of its elevage (again having the Montrose as a frame of ref) and for sure the St Julien juiciness is present. Very solid still, nice dark fruit, soft spice and a full palate as expected from a 2005. Needs time and hopefully its evolution will be as promising as it is today. 92 for now but full of promise . At least we hope as we have some sleeping IB ..
