Saturday, December 18, 2021 - I got punked when this wine through its dumb period. I loved it when it was young and fortunately acquired multiple cases, seemed like a sure thing. Over the last few years I thought maybe my tastes were changing and I did not like Chenin Blanc any more... a little flat, maybe oxidized, bitter, like a musty laundry bag. Was thinking of getting rid of what I had left. God bless procrastination. This has come back; super mineral, hints of pineapple (there is a hint of bitterness in pineapple but not a bad thing), tart apple; and like it was younger- a finish that just goes on and on.

9/2/2022 1:32:00 AM - This is why I love CT! I also had the same experience - I loved this wine when it was young, well the first bottle & bought quite a bit (along with the CdB 2014). I drank another bottle of the Le Mont about 9 months after the first and it was just as you described 'maybe oxidised...musty' - no fun ! So, I'm very happy to hear that - in your experience - it has bounced back! On the other side, the CT reviews for the CdB 2014 are suggesting signs of (premature) oxidation.. I'm going to pull a bottle of each out of storage and have a look for myself. I have a vague impression of reading somewhere that Huet's secs can go through a closed down / grumpy stage where they give the impression of being poxed, but are only 'sulking'. Your report would seem to support this. Do you have any other experience or written sources that would support this thesis ? Cheers
