Thursday, March 13, 2014 - Color: deep ruby -> diffuse, fully garnet rim. A little reticent on PnP so I let it sit for about an hour, bouquet unfurling and quite nice at that point. Lovely nose --very old-Bordeaux-ish: cassis, leather, a little coffee, medicinal and earthy. Alas, while the palate couldn't quite keep up with that nose, it's still holding on. Medium-bodied, tannins fully resolved with some light, red-fruit components, this seems a bit flabby; needs acidity and, unfortunately, a bit more length (medium -> short). I think this has started its slow slide off the plateau. Delicious, elegant, but just starting to fade a bit. Time to drink up . . . .
