Sunday, May 22, 2005 - Decanted for about three hours. This has lots of plum on the aroma with plenty of heat, but some violets, some blueberry notes. The wine is really purple and really dark, but not all that weighty. Not a whole lot going on with the palate, just some plum and black cherry that eventually gives way to faint spice, light tannins. Tart finish is OK length, nothing great. Maybe a bit early, but a disappointment compared to the 2002.
