Friday, September 24, 2021 - Love this more old world style. Maybe it is more a factor of the age of the wine, but I do not (usually) like the very fruit-forward Pinots, the like of some RRV wineries. In this wine, the terroir shine through and I love the slate/sandstone and spice taste that lingers on the back of the palate. With the concentration of flavors, small sips and long finishes kept this bottle going for quite some time.
No one ever really talks about this but I love when a great wine just lingers on. I can make a good bottle last for hours when cheap stuff you just slug down. Does anyone else notice the same?
Loved this wine. I need more!
