91 Points

Monday, June 14, 2010 - opaque purple/black - on the nose this is an extremely dense and ripe blackberry and candied plums and very well intergrated American oak. In the mouth - huge and sweet - very smooth. It is a nice wine with huge depth and very well made. With air, distinct mocha, smoke and leather notes below the juicy fruit. The main attribute but also the main problem with this wine is its liqueur like style which would be overbearing for some people. This wine can be drunk now for its sweetness or aged for 15+ years to see where it will go. A sipping wine that may fight against food at this stage. This is a "Parker" wine that both gives him a good or bad name depending on your taste. I'm being a bit stingy with 91 points but 95 points from the wine advocate seems out of line.
