Thursday, July 4, 2013 - Deep dark purple, bordering on black. Overripe dark berry fruits and earthy tones dominate the nose. Undertones of liquorice and pencil shavings. Not all that precise and slightly jammy - not hot though. Palate is rich and concentrated, medium to full bodied the wine offers lots of dark blackberries and the characteristic spice/pepper notes with a medium-length finish. I must admit that I am not as impressed as many other fellow CTers seem to be by judging from the scores being thrown around here. Especially when taking the 40€ price point into consideration this is a quite a letdown due its lack of complexity and precision. Concentration is not everything and I have drunk superior Shiraz at a third of the price.
