Wednesday, October 17, 2018 - Delicious nose of ripe blueberries, dark chocolate, vanilla oak, toasty spices and hints of eucalyptus. On the palate, there are intense black fruits, plums, licorice, star anise and black pepper in a very long mid-palate. Some freshness in this full-bodied wine, not jammy, it has a rounded structure with a powerful 30 secs finish. Not subtle at all in the palate but it is also not everything in your face type of presentation. Good layering of flavours as you draw air into your mouth. Just some acid bite at the back as you swallow. Still young at heart. Can be drunk now with no decanting but given its density of fruit, right dose of acidity with soft tannins as a support, it will continue to improve with age for the next 2-3 years.
