Sunday, July 9, 2017 - From a pristine bottle purchased on release, this wine had a deep yellow center and clear rims. The medium intensity nose put forth lemon, over-ripe pear, vanilla, and some white stone.

In the mouth, this was rich and ripe with attractive fruit and solid acidity. It was ripe enough that it took quite some time for the acidity and minerals to show themselves in a noteworthy way. Not surprisingly, this was best after 5+ hours of air.

This had the typical Fevre style with its super-ripe quality. However, extended aeration helped this wine as the improving acidity helped offset the extreme ripeness.

This wine is drinking now and it will continue drinking well for at least a decade. My guess is that it will probably not get a lot better, only different with time.
