Tuesday, February 1, 2005 - his was an opulent wine with heaps of rich ripe red and black fruits and copius amounts of oak. It was all sweetness on the palate and drinks beautifully at the moment - even though I imagine that it will age well. It is low acid and quite "plump". I had the 1999 a few weeks back and that wine's more clearly defined structure and balance appealed to me than the more obvious 2000. At any rate - I am glad I have a few of these in my cellar as it seems to me to be a great example of new age wine making in Tuscany. An outstanding wine, in my view and I look forward to its evolution (esp considering the next wine...)
