Sunday, March 5, 2017 - Opened and poured. Pale reddish/burnt brick coloring. Cork was soft and somewhat crumbly.

Impressively lively bouquet. Red dust, dried tomato leaf, sour red cherry, more subtle hints of anise and dried oak plank.

Lovely mouthfeel, with acidity still present. Tannins seemed pretty much fully integrated and softened. More red fruit - cherry/cranberry - mixing with subtle dried herb, old tobacco, and some woodsy flavors. Sublime balance.

This seemed to drink about four decades younger than the label said, and showed some intriguing similarity to older Bordeaux (cab dominant) wines. It was absolutely beautiful.
