Thursday, February 4, 2016 - Dark purple viscous appearance. Intriguing briary tannic funky aromas. However the palate is disappointing in comparison, with simple sweet dark cherry and a bit of tannic backbone. The only thing that keeps it from being anonymous California wine is it's interesting tannin and the lack of oak or oak chip flavor. As noted above, disappointing. Good to Very Good.
Edit: Day 9 - Bouquet remains as interesting, and the palate has deepened. Cherry has evolved to add a complementary sour cherry crunch, and there is a bit of sandalwood and lavender added midpalate. Much improved - Very Good.
