Saturday, September 5, 2020 - At Esmay, Noosa Sound. While not at the top of the very tall Yquem tree this wine is a mature and graceful example of fine Sauternes with a bronze, orange colour and a nose of apricot, bitter orange, pineapple and honey. The palate reflects the characteristics on the nose but adds a touch of butter and creme brûlée into the fine persistent profile that lingers on and on. There is plenty of weight without perhaps the depth and grip of the best but its up there !
