90 Points

Saturday, October 1, 2011 - Dark ruby, vibrant rim. Subtle nose yet rich in aromas like dark fruits, berries, brambles, delicate spice like black pepper, cinnamon, keeps inviting to return. Dry, medium-high acidity, high is soft and ripe tannins. Red cherries, more brambles, vanilla, some cocoa notes in the distance. Medium body, well structured, long and completely balanced (tannins-fruit-acidity) finish. This fruit-driven beauty displays elegance over power, restraint over display, a perfect food wine that complements yet never dominates the food (we had grilled lamb chops).
Keep 0-5 years, value / money = 8.5. Very very good indeed.
