Monday, May 23, 2011 - CellarTracker Bordeaux Trip; 5/23/2011-5/26/2011 (Bordeaux, France): The nose really stole the show here, truly wonderful. Captivating floral aromas upfront, along with prune, dark dried fruits, earth, currant, then giving way to fresh red and black berries. Gorgeous depth on the nose. Palate was a bit tight and not giving too much, especially compared to how open the nose was, although this was to be expected considering how young this is. More violet on the palate, along with black cherry, blackberry, a touch of blueberry, and some tart red plum. Plenty of silky tannins, lots of acidity, yet not overwhelming, and extremely dry. Long finish, with notes on blackberry at the end. Fantastic.
