Saturday, August 22, 2015 - Allowed to aerate in medium bowl decanter for 1 hour at room temp. Absolutely stunning nose of crushed vanilla pod, red licorice, candied raspberry, and pencil shavings. Consumed from a GabrielGlas universal stem. Not quite as exciting on the palate as the bouquet would suggest. Slight dark fruit but muted in intensity. Picking up some bramble, leather, and dark cherry. Tannin is still not fully integrated on the medium finish. Quite smooth and refined although it doesn't quite deliver that special feeling. Easily has 5-10 years ahead to improve on its pedigree.
