87 Points

Tuesday, April 9, 2024 - The mouthfeel immediately shouted over-extraction, with sweet and spicy dark fruits developing mocha from the mid-palate through to the finish. I found this soupy and muddy, lacking the focus and structure I expect from fine claret. A lighter touch on the tiller could have improved this no end. CHP 87pts

4/15/2024 6:07:00 AM - Novocane - thanks for your comment. I'll think we'll agree to disagree. Yes, it's a St Estephe & yes, it's a stellar vintage, but I found the wine-making style really heavy-handed and not to my liking. Where was the structure, finesse and elegance that I so admire in Left Bank claret?

Moreover, according to your assessment and my anticipated life expectancy, the wine is going to outlive me by some margin. I therefore won't be in a postion to comment on the veracity of your prediction. I won't be tempted. Thanks for your comment. Platpeeps.
