Saturday, January 30, 2010 - Kind of a muddy brownish red, transparent at the rim. Somewhat muted nose of some sweet cherry fruit with a bit of earthiness. Double decanted for about 4 hours before I tasted it. Pretty nice, smooth some layers of cherry fruit, garrigue, some iodine. Still a bit tight. Initial impression is smoothness. The fruit and the bulk of the flavors show up in the back palate. Definitely some of the Mourvedre earthiness and leather. Very good finish. Not as good as the 1998 Roger Sabon Cuvee Prestige that I had last night. Still pretty darn good though! With this cold weather on the east coast, it is a great time to be drinking CdP!
