Monday, December 29, 2014 - These older bottlings of Les Cailoux overdeliver for the price. Let stand in a decanter for approx. 1 hour. The initial nose is a bit of that old world CDP funk, barnyard and saddle. With time, it loosened up a bit to show more rich fruits. On the palate, the tannins as completely integrated. Again, that rich fruit with a bit of earth fills the mouth. Decently long finish and still a touch of acid to keep this balance. Really nice. I really like how 1998 CDP's are showing right now.
