Saturday, May 20, 2023 - Sangiovese study, Volume II (Chicago, IL): This was double decanted around lunchtime, which I felt introduced more air than necessary, as the fruit was starting to show a little bit of oxidation, and the tannins seemed to feel like they were clamping down rather than loosening up. But overall I do like the red fruit profile here and think that this is a wine with very good long-term potential.
