Friday, July 1, 2016 - Tasted blind. Pop and poured. Over lunch at InItaly.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of stony minerality, salt, citrus lemon, hints of sweet peach and butter. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), medium body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of citrus lemon, stony minerality, salt, hints of sweet peach. Medium finish.
Was guessing that this as a rather lean Puligny Montrachet village wine. Not really reflective of a Pouilly Fuisse as this does not show any ripeness and the fruit is lean. Wasn't 2014 a good vintage for white Burgundy in general?
