Sunday, May 5, 2013 - Decanted for two hours before tasting (and another hour + before serving). Dark purple core, pink rim. On the nose; power-packed with hints of primary dark fruit, menthol, spice box and smoky crushed rocks. On the palate; equally muscular, viscous and super concentrated with massive structure and very impressive length. I have no doubt that this wine will merit a 95+ score when it reaches full maturity in five to ten (?) years. As for now, however, it’s a little too raw and tannic to be labelled outstanding. Having said that, pairing a bottle with barbecued T-bones even at this early stage wasn’t entirely wrong.
