Friday, October 17, 2014 - 2014 New York Wine Experience Trip; 10/14/2014-10/21/2014 (New York City, NY): Opaque ruby/red, this wine delivers aromas and flavors of black currants, anise, dried herbs, fig and bittersweet chocolate. Full-bodied, freshly acidic and with substantial tannic grip, it is still quite youthful. Listed as 13%, the wine's alcohol is nicely integrated. Solid in the middle and concluding with a lengthy but dry finish, this is simply in need of additional cellar time. It has all the makings of something special and may merit a higher score in the future. Drink 2018-2030.
