Tuesday, November 17, 2015 - So, my taste is more for a heavier wine, typically from the left bank of Bordeaux, but this wine showed some nice promise. At first, since it is still fairly young at 2009 there was a strong tannin taste, plum, fruit, somewhat chianti like, but the wine had some structure, and the legs were well defined on the sides of the glass. After about an hour, the tastes really opened up, a smokiness to it, with some green pepper and lead pencil, and it started to get more full bodied and softer, but alas, at the end of the bottle it started to get a little tangy, and thinner. Had great moments, and as for the price, which I looked up after tasting (this was a gift), seems to be a very nice wine, considering the cost.
