Saturday, December 3, 2022 - Wine shows no visible age at all - deep red, no bricking at all. Nose actually doesn't show much. A little fruit and earth. The palate, though, is terrific. A mix of blackberry with some red fruit and even some fresh, tart acidity. This nearly 20 year old wine is still in its prime and even shows some young notes! I swear, this almost tastes like a Kosta Browne Pinot Noir, which I was not expecting at all.

I had the 2003 Howell Mountain last year, and it was deeper with significantly more blackberry and no notable acidity. It was definitely superior to this, but I'm extremely pleased with this wine. It has years to go - at least a decade.
