Saturday, May 9, 2015 - Again quite open with good balance. Slightly spicy and fresh with good but rather lean fruit. Nice finish. Quite savoury. Very solid and approachable. 91-93.

With the note I suggested 2016-2028 as drinking dates, but that is obviously very much depending on how mature you like your wine. Last year I attended a big vertical tasting of d'Armailhac with some very old vintages that were past their best. But more recent excellent vintages like 1982 or 1989 were still drinking very well. As it is probably fair to assume that the 2005 is at least at the same level of quality and longevity I reckon that 2028 would be a rather conservative estimate for a perfectly stored bottle of this wine. If I had one bottle I would personally open it around 2020-2022. Even better would be to enjoy it now to see for yourself and buy more for later if you like it. I hope this helps a little.
