Sunday, January 16, 2011 - Decanted for 3 hours. Medium to dark ruby color. Cassis, licorice, dried herbs, blackberries, and hints of leather and tobacco on the nose. Medium body with ripe tannins that linger very nicely and good acidity. Not an over the top style of cab that is becoming the norm. Very worthy as a dinner companion. Very nice and refined on the palate with loads of flavor. Long finish with just the perfect amount of spicy oak to add complexity. Perfect tannins and acidity to cut through the richness of a medium rare roast beef. Wish this was a magnum, I want another glass.
