Tuesday, January 22, 2008 - 2005 Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux Tasting (Drake Hotel, Chicago, Illinois): 62% Cabernet Sauvignon and 38% Merlot. I enjoy the wines from this estate which are made in an old world style. This was on par with the 1998 and 2003 (I did not try the 2000). Like many of the Margaux wines this has sweet red fruit at present. Rond texture and medium bodied. Notes of boysenberry and plum. Lush finish. 90-92 points.
