Monday, October 29, 2007 - Dark wine, unlike what I had seen from Mondavi in the recent (and not so recent) past. Great nose of blackberry, oak, and a touch herbal, not terribly complex, good weight in the mouth with similar black berry and oak flavors. A bit of heat, a bit of bitterness in the flavors after 3 hours, but it could have been the cheese I was having at the time. Will this turn into the delectable cassis? I don't know, will try again in a year.
