Saturday, December 8, 2007 - Our first Mondavi Oakville. Decanted for 1 hour. Nice dark purple color, gorgeous nose of dark fruits(blackberry) and a little mint, deep sweet fruit on the palate, balanced with good acidity, slightly drying (but not unpleasant) tannins, and a medium/long finish. This wine carried its alcohol well and wasn't hot at all. Excellent drinking wine and paired well with veal ragu. A very nice bottle to share with our friends. Will try to wait a year before opening the next one.
