Monday, July 2, 2012 - This is a very special bottle of wine given it's balance. almost perfect balance of alcohol and tannins to palate weight. Has that wonderful Napa Valley toasted oak smell with some extremely big red and brown fruit. just a touch of rim variation. Most importantly, this bottle has that beautifully nostalgic smell of a vineyard barreling room when there is nothing left in that glass: sweet vanilla butter, toasted oak. As this bottle opens you get really haunting elements of red cherry, strawberry, blueberry, bubble gum sweetness with a lasting kiss of cool herb. after about an hour open with no decanting this wine really singing. nice alcohol, tannins, hot fruit (cherry, pomegranate) but maintains that balance and silky palate feel and weight of a high quality Napa cab blend. awesome.
