Tuesday, March 31, 2015 - The cork was stained on all sides all the way up but was removed without trouble. I decanted this one largely to remove a significant amount of sediment. The wine has improved both in aroma and on the palate throughout the evening, including this final glass now four hours after the initial decant. This ruby colored wine with minimal signs of bricking still emits a lovely fragrance of cassis, blackberries, and plums along with typical aged cabernet elements. The palate is equally interesting and consists of similar components. If the finish were longer, this would be a truly outstanding bottle of wine. It is still lovely for what it is though.
