Saturday, November 11, 2023 - Flight 1 with Canonical. I came in expecting more from this wine but against more showy barolos, this was in the backseat most of the time. More tamed than the Canonic. Floral, but drier and autumnal. But here you pick out the oak, and it does stand out. Doesn’t lose any of that cherry liquor flavour despite the obvious elegance, loads of sweet red fruits. Tannins are there but less the power. Ethereal and restrained. On any other day I’d probably liked this more..
