Friday, July 16, 2021 - DC/Chicago Wine Dinner Extravaganza (Smyth and The Loyalist - Chicago IL): In Aubert 2014 horizontal. New oak still protrudes a bit aromatically, but overall richness is charming. Powerful, fleshy and ripe, but with enough structure and brightness to hold everything together well enough... even if the fat dominates.

I did review your tasting notes for the evening. Sounded marvelous! I don’t have the cloudiness in the Aubert’s wines you experienced but I drink from my cellar and they aren’t transported or handled in the same way. I don’t have have a lot of experience or availability of white burgundy in Asheville NC but I have been on the Aubert and Marcassin Chardonnay bandwagon for a long time, I appreciate your notes comparing them to French burgundy. I always value your tasting notes. Thanks for sharing.
