Saturday, June 7, 2014 - Opened and poured, this wine gave an excellent showing for its expressive, maturing aromatics. The bouquet shows dark cherry, spice and earth notes that suggest a sense of maturity with some underlying youthful aspects. The color is a tarnished dark ruby that is appropriate for the wines age. The medium bodied palate shows excellent overall balance. The wine gives a medium length finish that shows some remnant tannin structure. On both the bouquet and palate there remains some underlying youthful elements that leave the impression that this wine is at or around its peak and should continue to drink well for at least a few more years.
