Pours dark garnet with significant bricking at the rim. Looks older than 2012. At first it gave a strong whiff of musty funk, and pretty flat on the palate. I was concerned it was borderline corked, but my friends thought it was perfectly fine. After about an hour it finally came around and the funk blew off, revealing succulent warm cherry fruit and black olives and earth, with a surprisingly strong tannic finish. Glad I stuck with it.
