Saturday, January 22, 2011 - Still a youthful purple hue to the colour, a strong fruity nose with a background of herbs and aniseed, suggesting sweetness. Very austere in the mouth, lean with an initial bitterness and some heat on the finish. This has lost almost all fruit but includes some intriguing flavours and textures; fine tannins, gentle acidity combine to make a very dry wine. Other than the bitterness this provides a decent glass, 83-84pts.
