Tuesday, August 21, 2012 - What can you say about this wine that hasn't already been said. Super ripe, super extraction and a unique wine by California standards. The color is purple and will remind most of a syrah instead of a cabernet. The wine is still young, I don't think the wine will change much if it's opened for a couple of hours or several hours as the tannins are still very strong yet not overpowering. For me, this is a wine of contrast and to show a style of California Cabernet that I don't think is duplicated. That being said, it's also not a wine that I want to drink everyday even though it is incredible. For those that drink a lot of this wine, you know what I'm talking about. I would like to drink this wine as it is starting to plateau but I couldn't begin to tell you when this might be, maybe 5-10 years from now.
