Sunday, June 28, 2020 - Pours deep golden.
Strong musky, floral aroma. On the palate, a bewildering array of fruit, from pears to honeysuckle. Medium body with some oily Viognier feel and Marsanne feel. Strong stony minerality in the finish. Medium acidity.
Sometimes I think I wouldn't be able to differentiate Gewurztraminer and Viognier in a blind tasting. Being that when either of those grapes are used in a blend they tend to dominate the aroma, it immediately reminded me of a very good Alsace Edelzwicker blend. With that in mind, I pressed it into service by pairing it with something I'd normally pair with an Alsace wine, a teriyaki chicken, and it filled the role in admirable fashion.
Absolutely insane QPR wine at 11 bucks.
