Tuesday, March 8, 2016 - This is a nice bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. Different lots are fermented in concrete eggs, stainless, and possibly (?) barrique. They're blended together. This is a note for the 2014 wine, consumed in March of 2016. The wine, when first released, has a creamy, sweet softness that seems to overlay the sauv blanc characteristics. This wine, at this age, is a high-end Napa Sauv Blanc/etc. It lacks the tartness/gooseberriness of some of the Napa Sauvignon Blancs and certainly the NZ Sauvignon Blancs. I don't think that Sauvignon Blanc can make a wine much over the low 90's, so this is a good and perhaps great wine. (RMP rated one 97 point Sancerre, 3 96's, a dozen 95's, a few dozen 94's and then it's 93 on down.)
