Thursday, December 31, 2009 - Oh dear - green green green and sharp. The fruit is hiding or barely peeping through some fairly astringent tannins. Reticent on the nose - the palate is tarte, short and bitter. I wouldn't say this is in a dumb phase - it just seems to lack the depth and oomph you would expect from a chateau such as this. Time may be kind to this wine in the long run but I wouldn't bet on it.

For now it is sitting in a decanter and I'll come back to it in a few hours.

7 hours later this is more palatable but it is also being drunk with food - less pronounced tannins and greenness but still lacks the depth and class for the price.
