Thursday, May 20, 2021 - Although one of the best performers in a a very average year, it is not one of the stellar vintages from the estate. It is drinking very well already but benefits from a few hours in the decanter. The nose is all about blackcurrant and tobacco with fresh red berry fruits and floral hints. The palate is austere and a throwback in style with strong tannin which is balanced but dominant over the fruit. Likewise the finish is robust but lengthy and well balanced. It will be interesting if further aging will improve the wine as I do feel that there is still some greenness on the palate and finish. 93+
